Flashing Led Slow Down Rate

Our Flashing LED STOP-SLOW paddle signs use High Intensity Prismatic (HIP) reflective sheeting, which is used for the production of high quality work zone signs. The LEDs are Highly visible at wide angles in daytime, twilight, inclement weather and at night.

When powered, the LEDs perform a slow fade through the rainbow, from red to orange to yellow, etc till they get back to red. See the video below for the timing and look. There is no way to change the 'program' or rate, its burned into a little chip that is inside the LED itself.

Turn on the flasher. Adjust the value of the variable resistor with a small screwdriver and observe whether or not the LED blinking rate slows down with the change in resistance. Remove the variable resistor and attach it to the left and right leads of another resistor.

Note, the LED B+ will now jump to 63V then back down to 63V. Note; If there is a problem with a load from the panel backlights, you can remove AC and Disconnect P202 or P203. When AC is reapplied, the Backlight LEDs should turn on for about 4 seconds and then shut off.

This can be not only a LED flasher or LED driver but a -ve or +ve low power voltage generator. So also potentially a programmer supply, LCD bias supply, -ve opamp supply etc. This circuit will flash an LED of any colour and forward voltage (or potentially even several LEDs in series) or will pulse a load using one cell - probably about 1 volt will be enough to operate it.
